The full form of TTC is Trained Teacher’s Certificate.

T T C Course is a two year undergraduate course conducted by the Teacher’s Training Department. Teachers graduating from this course are qualified to teach in English medium primary schools. The department was established in 1955 at the request of the Govt of West Bengal. In 2003-2004, the department was recognized by the NCTE.

The 2 year course prepares teachers in all professional subjects, viz. Educational Psychology, Principles of Education and School Organization, Methods of Teaching Subjects at the Primary Level such as Value Education, English, Mathematics, History, Geography and General Science. TTC Courses Eligibility

To qualify as a teacher you must meet the following requirements:

Educational qualification:

The candidates who passed or appeared for the 10+2 Final Examinations or its equivalent are eligible to pursue TTC Courses. But they should have passed the qualifying examination by the time of admission.

The candidate should have secured 45% of marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. The minimum percentage of marks in the case of SC, ST and Physically Challenged candidates shall however be 40%.

TTC Course Duration:

Duration of Trained Teacher’s Certificate Course is two years (2 yrs). However, a candidate can complete the teacher training course any time within 2-year limit.

Age Limit:

No, there is no age bar for enrolling for Teachers Training Course. Anyone above the age of 17 is eligible for pursuing this TTC Course.
