What is DND? How to Register/Activate the Airtel DND Service?
DND is nothing but ‘Do Not Disturb’. This service is useful to the subscriber who wants to stop the promotional calls and messages from the commercial ad agencies. By following the procedure you can register to the DND service. There is a registry called NDNC (National Don’t call registry) was useful for the subscriber, it filters the caller list of the commercial ad agencies and then you didn’t receive the calls/messages from them. Full blocking via SMS
The starting of the DND service by a single SMS as follow: type the SMS><Space><START 0 to 1909
Full blocking via Call
Activating the DND by making a call to 1909 and carefully listen to the IVRS system and select the activation of DND option.
Partial blocking procedure for the Airtel Number
Coming to the partial blocking procedure the subscriber can select some particular areas which they want to block and he/she can choose multiple in once, below table describe the default preference numbers for sending the SMS’s

Airtel partial blocking through the Call
Airtel offers the subscribers to activate the DND service by calling to 1909 and the procedure as follows: make a Dial to the 1909 and carefully listen to the IVRS instructions and follow the steps until you reach the option of DND and then select the partial blocking option followed by the selected area.
How to Deactivate the DND Service to the Airtel Subscriber
By the way you can deactivate the ‘do not disturb’ service by the followed procedure: first of all check the DND status of your number, if it is active then you can able to deactivate it. if it is inactive then no need to follow this procedure. One of the Procedures for the deactivation of DND service is by Sending the SMS to 1909 like SMS><Space>< STOP or you can go by another way by calling to 1909 and followed by IVRS instructions you can deactivate the DND service.
INSTRUCTIONS
- There is no charge for activation/deactivation of the DND services.
- Some of the services like Bank alerts, bank communications, online booking alerts, etc. Cannot stop by the DND Service.
- Note that activation/deactivation of the DND can be takes place within Seven days.
