According to the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority) a user can register his/her number into the NPCR (National preference consumer register) any time based on their interest. The activation of this service takes place in two categories. You may fully block the service or partially block the service and they were discussed below:

Fully Blocked DND services

Coming to the fully blocked DND service you can completely block all calls and messages from the commercial ad agencies. Here you can block it in two ways one is via call and another one is through SMS.

Full Blocking/ full activation of DND service by SMS

In this procedure you can make a message like this way, SMS><Space><START 0 to 1909. Then you will receive the confirmation message with a unique number and now you request is posted at the Aircel network and after some time the service was activated.

Full blocking/ activation of DND by call

Please follow the steps as described below:

Step 1: Make a call to 1909.

Step 2: Follow the IVRS instructions until you found the DND option.

Step 3: After getting DND option select the full blocking option.

Step 4: Accept the activation by giving a respective response code to it.

Partially blocked/ Activation of DND for Aircel

Here Aircel network was providing some default preferences for the user to select the particular area. To avoid calls from the ad agencies you can select the multiple areas for your choice. There are two ways for partial activation DND services they are given below

Partial blocking DND through SMS

Partially blocked DND by call

By the way, it offers the deactivation of the DND by sending a simple SMS that was as follow: SMS><Space><STOP to 1909. You may follow another procedure like, make a call to 1909 and give the correct response to the multiple options offered by the IVRS system. Finally select the option for the deactivation of the DND services.

Instructions:

• Note that the activation of the DND service may take 7 days after registration of activation.
• DND cannot stop some services like bank communications, bank alerts, online booking alerts, and etc.
