This Festival is known by different names in across various states of India such as Ugadi in A.P, Telangana States, Puthandu in Tamil Nadu, Gudipadwa in Maharashtra, Bihu in Assam, Kolla Versham in Kerala, and as Baisakhi in Punjab etc. According to Telugu Calendar year named as “Hemalamba Nama Samvatsara”. How to make Ugadi Pachadi?
Ugadi Pachadi is a dish of 6 different tastes and flavors – jaggery, raw mango, tamarind, neem flowers, salt and green chilli. Ugadi Pachadi 6 ruchulu signifies six different experiences in everybody life such as sadness, happiness, anger, fear, disgust, and surprise. So, on the day people make this pickle as a part of celebration.
Now let you know how to make Ugadi Pickle by using above stated 6 Ingredients’. First and foremost thing is wash tamarind and soak it in half cup warm water till it softens meanwhile, pluck the flowers from neem flowers/buds. And then add grated jaggery to one cup water, mix till it melts off. Then add rest of the ingredients such as red chilli powder, salt, raw mango and again mix well. Now Ugadi Pickle is ready and do not taste it if you intend to offer it to god. After that share Ugadi Pachadi with your family members, relatives, neighbors etc.
