Amala Paul was born on 26th October 1991 in Ernakulam, Kerala. Amala Paul, after completing her higher secondary education at Aluva govt Girls Higher Secondary school, took a year gap before joining college. To pursue a B.A. degree in communicative Englishshe later joined St Teresa’s college. At the time, her modelling portfolio was spotted by noted Malayalam director Lal Jose who offered her a supporting role in his remake, Neelathamara (2009). This was her first appearance on screen. Amala was from a Christian family. Paul Varghese and Annice Paul were her parents. Her brother Abijith Paul, also appeared in films following Amala’s entry into the film industry.
Career:
She later did some movies in Tamil and Malayalam but the movie Mynaa brought her great recognition. This also brought nominations for Film fare and Vijay award for best actress.
Her debut in Tollywood was with the movie of Naga Chaitanya in the movie Bezawada.
She later appeared in love failure beside Siddarth.
She came up with movies Nayak and iddramayatlho in 2013. Both were hits.
After a short gap she again came up with dubbing movie Raghuvaran B.Tech.

Amala was in relationship with director A. L. Vijay. The pair announced in early 2014, that they were set to get married by mid 2014. They were engaged on 7 June 2014 at Aluva in Kochi. The couple got married on 12 June 2014 at Mayor RamanathanChettiar Hall, Chennai. In 2016, Amala and Vijay filed for a divorce. Divorce was granted for them on February 2017.
