SSC CGL Exam Details: Staff Selection Commission conducted the SSC CGL exam of four tiers (CGL Tier 1, 2, 3, 4) according to Region (North Region, Western Region, MP Sub-Region, Eastern Region, North Eastern Region, Southern Region, KKR Region, North Western Sub-Region, and Central Region).The CGL Exam is the open competitive exam for recruitment for various posts in the Ministries and Departments of the Govt of India. Finally the much awaited Combined Graduate Level Exam Notification has been out at ssc.nic.in.

About CGL Exam:

The full form of CGL is Combined Graduate Level Examination. It is a one of the big level examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC), for recruitment to different posts for which a Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum requirement. The CGL Exam will comprise of two Tiers written Objective Type examination followed by Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)/ Interview/Skill test.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduation (Economics/Statistics/Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Age limit:

Applicant’s minimum age limit should be 18 years and max age may vary according to post.

SSC CGL Application Fee

  • SSC CGL Application Fee of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only).
  • All Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee, as per extant govt orders. The candidates who are not exempted from paying examination fee may submit the requisite fee through SBI only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through State Bank of India. Net Banking Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.
  • Candidate may note that only SSC CGL Online Registration will be accepted

SSC CGL New Exam Pattern

  • SSC CGL Exam is an objective Type Online Exam.
  • There is no sectional cutoff.
  • There are 100 questions consisting of 200 Marks.
  • Time Duration is 75 minutes (1:15 hours) for 100 questions.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I Exam.
  • In respect of Tier II, the negative marking system will remain unchanged.
  • The topics covered in the exam are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
  • The Question Paper will be bilingual. The applicants will have the option to choose any one medium

SSC CGL Syllabus

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated follows: Tier -1 & Tier -2 in computer-based test mode in place of OMR based examination mode. Tier -3 is Descriptive Test (Pen and Paper Mode) and Tier –4 is Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)/ Document Verification.
