About CEED Exam:

The full form of CEED is Common Entrance Examination for Design. CEED Exam is the all India Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, on behalf of Ministry Of Human Resources Development, Government of India.

It is a Qualifying examination to get admissions in Master of Design (M.Des) Programs in some institutes like IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Gawhathi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, and IITDM Jabalpur. The CEED score is also useful to get admissions in M.Des, P.hD Programs.

CEED qualified students are eligible for the following postgraduate programmes in various institutes with the specialization as mentioned:

a) Master of Design Programmes 

  • IISc Bangalore: M.Des in Product Design and Engineering.
  • IIT Bombay: M.Des in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation, Interaction Design, Mobility and Vehicle Design.
  • IIT Delhi: M.Des in Industrial Design.
  • IIT Guwahati: M.Des in Design.
  • IIT Hyderabad: M.Des in Visual Design.
  • IIT Kanpur: M.Des in Design.

b) PhD Programmes in Design (IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur)

CEED Exam Details of Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must complete Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or equivalent (4 years programme after 10+2).
  • Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years programme after 10+2).
  • F.A. (4 year professional programme after 10+2).
  • D Art (5 year programme after 10th) with one year post qualification professional experience.
  • Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications (2 year programme after 10+2+3).
  • Candidates with 3 years Bachelor degree are not eligible.  The candidate is responsible for proving the eligibility while applying for CEED.

CEED Application Fees:

  • For all women candidates: Rs. 1,100/-
  • For (SC/ST/PWD) candidates: Rs. 1,100/-
  • For all other candidates: Rs. 2,200/-
  • For all foreign nationals: Rs. 2,200/-

The CEED Application Fee has to be paid through the payment option provided on official site while submitting the application form. Credit card, debit card and net banking options are available.

CEED Exam Pattern

  • The CEED Exam will consist of two parts, Part A and Part B.
  • Participants have to attempt questions from both the parts.
  • Part A consist multiple choice (MCQ) type questions and Part B consist of design and hand drawing type questions.
  • Part A will be conducted from 10.00 A.M to 11.00 A.M. followed by Part B from 11.00 A.M to 13.00 P.M.
  • Answer to Part A has to be given in the computer itself.
  • Answer to Part B has to be given in the answer book provided by the invigilator.
  • These answer books will be collected for manual correction at the end of the exam.
  • The language of the question paper will be English.

CEED Syllabus

As per notification issued by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will direct CEED Exam in two stages (Part A, Part B). The syllabus for CEED Entrance Exam has been fixed by examination board. To get success in examination, syllabus is very important for those applicants. Students are going to attend the CEED examination they are must to aware about the CEED Syllabus.
