About CAT Exam:
The full form of CAT is Common Admission Test. It is a computer based test held in India. CAT Exam is the premier all India management entrance examination conducted by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management).
CAT scores are used for admission to various management courses across the country. Every year CAT Notification will be released in all the leading newspapers and its official website www.iimcat.ac.in. All interested candidates will be able to register themselves for CAT Exam through online.
CAT Exam Eligibility
- There is no change in eligibility criteria to appear in Common Admission Test CAT 2016-17.
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST and PWD/DA category).
- Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification are also eligible to apply for the Examination.
CAT Exam Details of Fees Structure
- The registration fee is Rs 1700/- for General and OBC candidates
- Fee of Rs 850 for SC/ST/PWD (DA) categories.
- Additional charges are applicable on the final amount.
Mode of Payment
The CAT Exam fee can be paid via Debit/Credit cards or through internet banking.

The CAT Exam Papers will consist of the following sections:

CAT Exam Syllabus
CAT Exam syllabus is not predefined; however, in general, CAT test includes questions on Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR).

Admission Procedure
Based on CAT exam score/rank, students will be selected by IIMs for second stage of selection. The selection procedure may include Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. Previous work experience, academic performances might be considered by IIMs during admission procedure.
