Joint Entrance Examination which is popularly known as JEE is an engineering entrance examination conducted under the supervision of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission into engineering colleges in India. JEE was classified and constituted into two different examinations viz. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The candidates who qualifies in JEE Mains can take up JEE Advanced which are the most challenging undergraduate admission tests. These type of tests are conducted mostly in objective pattern.

Eligibility Criteria

eligibilityRecently, CBSE has added a new requirement to attain eligibility in JEE Mains in addition to age & qualification. They are mentioned as follows:

Aadhaar Card Number:

This is the new requirement added by CBSE recently for the students who are willing to prepare for JEE Mains. All the Indian students who want to prepare for JEE Mains, should possess Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI. The candidates should fill all the details in the application just as in the Aadhaar card. If there is any mismatch in the details, then the candidate may not be eligible to attend JEE Mains exam 2018.

Age:

For General candidates – Candidates who are born on /after 1st October 1993 are eligible for examination & For SC/ST/PWD candidates – Candidates who are born on/after 1st October 1988 are eligible for examination.

Educational Qualification:

The candidates who qualify in 12th with a good score, qualify in all subjects with good score or passing marks are eligible for the exam. The candidates who qualified in 12th in 2016 & 2017 are eligible for the exam. Diploma holders are also eligible for JEE Mains examination. An applicant can attendmpt JEE Mains exam only 3 times.

JEE Mains Application

Application form for JEE Mains may be available from last week of November to 1st week of December and the application should be filled online. Candidate can perform corrections before submitting itself. If not, the application is rejected and the application should be submitted before its closing date. How to Apply Online

Step 1:  Go to the official website www.jeemain.nic.in.

Step 2:  Open application form. Keep Aadhaar card aside to fill your application form correctly.

Step 3:  Enter all the fields correctly in the required fields.

Step 4:  Upload scanned photograph or signature in required places.

Step 5:  Check whether the given information twice or thrice without submitting. Once the application is submitted, it’s not possible to make corrections.

Step 6:  After checking, click ‘submit’.

Step 7:  Application form with Pdf format will be generated. Take a print out for future references.

Preparation Tips

preparationIt is necessary for every student to follow some instructions during preparation of exams which are also known as preparation tips. Let’s go through some of the important tips below:

  • For obtaining good score, a student should strive hard. For that he should spend a lot of time in preparation of exams i.e. per day he should spend approximately 18hours.
  • The time schedule should be fixed in a way that the candidates should cover all the subjects i.e. he should cover at least 5 topics per each subject.
  • The candidate should spend more time for the difficult subject. He can maintain contacts with the lecturers to rectify their doubts.
  • Practicing model papers (previous & practice papers) helps the students to get full knowledge about the subjects and helps to attain good score.
  • During the preparation, he should not divert on other aspects and concentrate completely on preparation thinking of goal.
  • Before few days of exam, the student should leave books and spend freely for wiping off all tensions and stress. Time management is very important. Attend the exam center in time by carrying all necessary credentials mentioned in hall-ticket.
  • First answer all the questions in which you’re aware and at last answer the un-attempted or doubtful questions. Sometimes it is necessary to make logical thinking to find an answer.
  • Don’t conduct any malpractice during the examination. It leads to heavy damage to future.
